I was feeling guilty about slamming the webpages on MySpace in the last entry.\u00c2\u00a0 I think it’s great that people are creating and owning a little piece of real estate on the internet.\u00c2\u00a0 And no one should ever feel bad about creating bad design.\u00c2\u00a0 We certainly didn’t “back in the day.”\u00c2\u00a0 And even now I don’t.\u00c2\u00a0 I can’t sing worth beans either, but I still do.<\/p>\n

It’s just that MySpace annoys me, and I have no idea why.\u00c2\u00a0 I feel like it shouldn’t even be on my radar –\u00c2\u00a0that I shouldn’t be bothered by something so nonrelevant to my life.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I try to tell myself that it’s a great place for the kids, like Deviant Art<\/a> or Lolita Snap<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0which I totally adore and surf all the time.\u00c2\u00a0 I think that what the kids are doing on\u00c2\u00a0those sites\u00c2\u00a0is creative and brilliant!\u00c2\u00a0 But, for some reason, I find MySpace… what’s the right word… … just\u00c2\u00a0annoying<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0It’s my\u00c2\u00a0personal black hole on the internet.<\/p>\n

One day I am going to have to explore this dislike.\u00c2\u00a0 Although I think a fair bit of it is the webpage format that the MySpace engine forces people to use.\u00c2\u00a0 I find those pages so… ugh!\u00c2\u00a0just practically impossible to read.\u00c2\u00a0 MySpace is this massive website filled with page after page after page\u00c2\u00a0of jumbled, busy, badly-designed, difficult-to-read webpages.<\/p>\n

I thought of a real life metaphor for the the MySpace webpages.\u00c2\u00a0 This is what my computer room once looked like:<\/p>\n

Would you be able to find anything? Is it pleasing to look at?\u00c2\u00a0 It’s unorganized and a mess.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s\u00c2\u00a0practically\u00c2\u00a0nonfunctional.\u00c2\u00a0 This is what I see when I look at MySpace pages.\u00c2\u00a0 This is why they annoy the heck out of me.<\/p>\n
