What makes a person thrive? \u00c2\u00a0What do you need in your environment to make you personally thrive? \u00c2\u00a0One definition for environment is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The totality of surrounding conditions and circumstances affected growth and development.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00c2\u00a0Do your surrounding conditions and circumstances nurture you?<\/p>\n
We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re going to do an experiment together: close your eyes and imagine an environment in which you would glow, in which you would be so filled with energy and happiness that you would inspire the people around you with your amazing work ethic and positive attitude. \u00c2\u00a0 Take your time; I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll wait.<\/p>\n
Now open your eyes and look about you. \u00c2\u00a0How close is reality to the personal utopia you envisioned? \u00c2\u00a0Can one achieve a personal utopia?<\/p>\n
I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t thrive in Texas. \u00c2\u00a0The heat is oppressive. \u00c2\u00a0 I live in recycled air for months at a time. \u00c2\u00a0Trying to garden in Central Texas is like trying to garden in a desert. \u00c2\u00a0Our houses have no light because if we let light in, we also let the intense heat in.<\/p>\n
Do I change my world or do I change myself? \u00c2\u00a0I hate the Texas climate, but I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t leave because Matt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s work is here. \u00c2\u00a0 And even if I did leave, would I take my unhappiness with me because, in the end, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not so much about the environment and more about one\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s personal baggage and attitude?<\/p>\n
